If someone could clarify...

What is the point? (seriously) What are the bennifits? Do I get anything? Where does my money go to adn for what? Do I need to own an XJ right now, or can I get one later? Do I join a chapter (SIERRA)? Dont get me wrong, I think it could be worth it, just curious.

Anyway, thanks a lot!

From Woody, our past PRez:

THE most tangible things has provided to the XJ/MJ community are the events! From the first Forum Fest in Colorado that got things started, Members have been keeping FUN things going on all across the land.

Maintaining membership in, and donating to organizations with common goals and a larger footprint uses the largest share of Member's dues. Over 50% of our dues and donations from event proceeds go towards supporting allied land-use causes.

Our club's website has always been the premier internet resource for XJ/MJ owners to interact and share information. It isn't 'free,' but it isn't as huge a burden as it was in our early years. Each person who joins up eases that burden just a little more.

.org takes effort by just a few motivated volunteer folks to keep things happening all around. In order for us to prosper as a club, we need good Members to join, renew, participate, help out, lead, follow, etc...

Thanks for contributing in whatever way you can!

You don't join a Chapter, but rather the national org. If you live withon our service area, and are a National ORg member, you are automatically "in" the Sierra Chapter.

CRASH

I was active on the forums for about 3 years before joining as a member. Over those 3 years I saw what a great place this is for help, info, and just to BS back and forth. Last year when I knew I was going to be going on runs with members and official NAXJA events I decided it would be appropriate to join up. There are some minor benefits like a sticker, access to the member's section of the board, ability to vote in club matters, etc, but the main thing for me was just wanting to give back to a place that I have come to genuinely appreciate. I just paid for my second year yesterday :D

Membership in NAXJA includes a membership in United Four Wheel Drive Assoc, which is an important national land use advocacy group. Being a NAXJA member means you are supporting the club website and forums, which are an important source of information recreation for XJ/MJ owners. It also means you belong, and are cool!

...LOL, thats one of the reasons i did it!

I haven't seen my sticker yet  and I have been a member for almost 2 months. Since I visit this site a lot I figured I would pay as well.

My packet arrived within 2 weeks of joining. That was a month or two ago. Pop a PM off to the registration guy and see what went wrong.

I'ld just like to add that being a member isn't about what you're getting, its about what you're giving, which is support for organizations that promote and defend what we love.

I agree, thats why I submitted my membership..I just was curious
