My dad recently had his 97 pontiac bonneville in the shop for an intake manifold gasket replacement. Now the check engine light is on and a fter a drive we found out why. The tranny wont downshift to passing gear. The owners manual says its supposed to come on if there is a emission problem. I beliee the problem is a vaccum prob since the tranny shares vac with the evap system but the hoses are all connected right. Any others suggestions all the wires seemed to be hooked back up.
