96- to a 97+ bumper?

I haven't even seen the mounts for the 97+ but I am in need of a new XJ but I am in love with my front bumper. How difficult would it be to make adapters to fit from my 92 to a newer jeep? Would it be so much of a pain in the arse it wouldn't be worth it? Would it be weaker?

What kinda bumper is the one you got now? I would call Terry at Rigid Co. and order a mounting kit for a 97+ and use that to adapt your old bumper. Their mounting kits are top notch and it'll save you a boatload of time!

The front bumpers use the same 3 holes in the front from 1984-2001. The only difference is back by the fenders since the later ones tie into the endcaps. Hope this helps.
