so I thought I would share the rebuild up of my Cherokee. In this thread I will be covering the build of my interior roll cage and the design of it, with intergrated spare tire carrier inside the truck, also the build up of my front and rear bumpers (yet again) and the installation of various parts such as winch (yet again), frame stiffeners, and some other custom fabricated pieces. Heres my rig as she sits now
What brought me to my current point of rebuilding my jeep is the fact I've been noticing the rear cargo area starting to buckle and the sheet metal starting to literally tear apart so i knew it was time, I also started noticing soft spots on random parts of my floor and the dreaded "groaning" sound while crawling my jeep. So brought it to my shop and fired up the welder and here we go.
First thing to do was take a look at what i had to work with as you can see in the picture I have my rear seats still installed which in my new cage design they are going to be gone. And here you can actually see the waves in my floor from it slowly getting crushed from abuse.
So I loaded it up on the trailer and brought it into the shop. Once there I took out the rear seats and the plastic paneling on the sides along with anything else that can melt/ burn during welding.
Once that was complete I started the SHIT task of pulling up the Rhino lining I had sprayed on about a year ago on my floors to see what kind of damage i really had. And that's where the cute surprises started. I noticed some real soft spots on the drivers rear side of the floor (by the fuel filler) and in the center of the floor where the wrinkle is. both problems needed to be eliminated because both will help tie in the cage and spare tire carrier.

And after I got the Rhino lining of the floor.
So before I can start making anchor points for the cage I have to now Cut up the Whole rear floor and sleeve the uni body rails for reinforcement along with cross brasses in between the two frame rails so they hold up to more abuse again. I figured things would come up like this so I have the materials at my shop waiting for there new home. Speaking of which the cage will be made of 1.50x.120 Dom tubing.
Stripping the floor
This was my progress for today stay tuned to see how this heep really turns out.
