Does anyone have a good technique for removing this stuff?

does it cause any problems with rust?

Pressure washer. It is the factory undercoat. Make sure and replace it with something or prepare yourself for a Fred Flintstone vehicle.

Oh- Then I won't be removing it. I thought it was years of road grime baked on- :doh:

I discovered (accidentally) that PB Blaster penetrating lube quickly dissolved some of my undercoating.

If youre in the salt belt, I would consider adding extra undercoating, Jeep missed a few spots on mine.

think jeep missed all of mine....lol. Any repairs I have made have been coated with Zero Rust ( built up a few coats) then sprayed with bedliner, inside and out, seem to have stopped the rust but I will be repalcing the (entire) floor pans in the summer.
