Hmmmmm......... Is that a receiver hitch I see?

'87 + tow package = D44????

Someone needs to snatch that up.

thats what I was thinking about. I already got one but buy the jeep fix the head sell it for a few 1000 or part it out. make back your money. It lookes pretty clean.

If I part out one more jeep on my driveway, my neighbors are going to linch me.:hang:

Jeeeeeezzzz! It is awful purdy though, did it have the D-44?

Those yellow/red dealer tags made me shudder, looks like the same lot we bought from. It was a real learning experience for the Mrs, she came to realize I may know something after all.

It's still a good score Troy, I've watched people pay more for worse.

Four is that all? I currently own two cherokee's, a comanche, a flat fender, an early bronco, two super dutys and four other older diesel ford trucks, and I'm not even twenty yet. I really think I have a problem.

You must be an extraordinarily handsome feller - I dropped by Troy's after you picked up the axles and he said my twin had already been there... :anon:

yeah, WTF is up with that?

He's full of it, and if he's not man do I feel sorry for you :o

The rear is already on my jeep
Of course the last thing to do is bleed the brakes and the pax side bleed screw can't cooperate.

Judging from the looks of the rest of that Jeep, you wouldn't be too bad off if you picked up a pair of brake cylinders for the D44...I'd expect they might be just a wee bit crappy.

Probably a good idea, I need to pull them apart when it's cooler out and connect the parking brake anyway. here's to hoping this kid that grew up with disc brakes can get the drums back together with no spare parts left.

Is it just me or are the bleeder screws on the D44 a funky size?

anyone want to help swap the D30? Didn't think so.

Did mine last year, I hurt for a few days afterward. If this is your DD, plan on a weekend. Change the ball joints (unless they look new) in the mean-time.

BTW, last year I sold the old core to a young fella who was looking for a high pinion D30 his TJ or YJ or something-J. It seems that not all Jeeps were graced with a high pinion front axle. Swapping in the XJ axle was a low budget upgrade for him.

frank z helped me do ball joints just two weeks ago

so I'll bang the knuckles down on mine and mount the new diff, bang the knuckles off and swap the new joints from mine to the "new" axle, since the joints cost me almost as much as the axles. At least I know how I guess so it should go quickly plus he anti-seized the crap out of it so it should come apart easy. Had enough fun in this heat to last me so I pulled the vac lines off my disco just to be sure it doesn't connect and screw me (3.07 on the front 3.54 or 3.55 in the back) I'll do the front next weekend.
