6-cells in jeeps

Ok, this is a stupid question but I'll post it anyways. I have a 6-cell maglite that I keep in the XJ. More than one person has told me this is not legal to do in some states  . Is there any truth this?

I would think it's no more illeagal than carrying a baseball bat. If you keep the bat in a bat bag or with some balls there's no question. Throw the light under the rear seat with some other trail equipment and you've got a survival kit. Maybe keep some spare batteries too. Or you could put a handgun under your seat just to throw him off.

"What you're only allowed to use flashlights at home officer?"

"If you're worried about the flashlight wait'll you look under my seat."

Damnit this Terry's a man after my own heart!

I haven't heard of any such stories - but it sounds like urban legend nonsense. It's a flashlight, not some modern day ninja weapon. Don't sweat it. As long as you only use it as a flashlight, I'd LOVE to come represent you if you ever got in trouble for possessing a flashlight.

:laugh3:
How 'bout two outta three?
I'm an attorney and in that context I'm damn "ornery".
Time is tight, but for the chance to make an argument like that . . .

Or a bushaxe LOL

I dunno, some places the law may suspect one with a big light and a gun may be night hunting/poaching? Light laws here in NC vary by county. Some allow spotlighting game (but not shooting it while lit up), others forbid it.

BTW why the big light? The Pelican Super Saberlight (2-'C'cell) that Chark turned me onto is very bright for it's size, plus it's certified for hazardous/explosive enviroments. I have owned a few maglites, and they always seem to fail me when most needed. Just cause Sarge can change a bulb in the dark, doesn't mean he likes to.
