Does anybody running a stroker engine with mopar perfomance Camshaft DCC-4529228AB (Advertised Duration 240/ 240, Lift .430/ .430) work fine?
im not sure to use it in my storker...

my storker is in base of:

4.2 Cranck
4.2 Con-rods
4.0 Pistons (.3)
Mopar Camshaft or Stock (i take my choice considering your recommendations)
4.0 Valve Springs
4.0 H.O (1995) Head
4.0 H.O (1995) Block
External Fuel Pressure Regulator
62MM TB
D. Thorley Headers
FIPK K&N
Ford 24 Lbs Injectors
8mm Wires

now, as you can see the only doubt is the camshaft¡¡¡¡

If your trying to decide between stock and the mopar...............Mopar all the way!!!!!!!!!!

Not speaking for actual experience tho:spin1:

Flash.

I'm interested in a mopar cam as well, but haven't figured out which of the three I prefer(28,29,30 IIRC). Where have you found the best deal on it? I'm going to go with mopar springs as well.

Somebody may need to correct me, but I thought Mopar stopped making the 29 and 30 cams. About one year ago, I remember somebody posting on JU that they got one of the last 29 cams in the US. There were only 3 left at that time.

I searched a couple months ago and found the 28-30 and saw that they stopped making the 31 and 32, but after my search tonight, I see that summit stopped carrying the 29 and 30. Hmph. Now I'm gonna spend the next hour trying to track them down.

So last week I ordered the Mopar P4529230AB cam w/lifters (256 duration, .45 lift) from Mopartsracing.com(/Jeepconnection.com) for $192 shipped to my door. Now there is only two left that they can get(I never asked how many 28s or 29s they had). It was cool to see that the mfg date was 3/28/07, which is my b-day. I'll take a look tomorrow and see if the lobes are as wide as the stock cam or if they are .5" like most other aftermarket mfgs. I'm holding off on the springs and retainers until I do enough research on cam break-in.

JP, either go with the Mopar 30 cam or the stock cam. I have the stock '87-'95 cam in my stroker and I like it, but if you want more low rev torque (I already have plenty enough) and don't mind sacrificing a few HP, you could go for the stock '96-'98 cam instead and combine it with Yella Terra 1.7 ratio roller rockers to add some valve lift (it's 0.408"/0.414" with 1.6's, 0.433"/0.440" with 1.7's on this cam).

Mopartsracing.com/Jeepconnection.com had 2 more 30's as of last week. I didn't ask how many 29s they had, tho.

Not sure if it will ship, but i just ordered a new 29 cam from Summit Racing, and it is supposed to ship in 2 days as a special order... place your bets now. :attom:

I'm sure the guys who posted in this thread 5 years ago just don't care....

My stroker with the 30ab is still ticking away. Tell us the exact p/n when you get it cause I think mopar made new stock and call them #28-30ac now. The good thing about the 28 and 29 is that you can use the stock valve springs/retainers/keepers.
edit: they're up to ad now for the 4.0 cams.

I concur, and suspect the Jeep is gonna run like a raped ape !!! Started saving up for some new ICON 944 pistons, and it should be a fun build. Prolly have all the parts i need by Turkey Day, and then we can see how a cam like this makes low-end torque in a fresh 4.6 stroker... ;)

With lower-than-stock-cam overlap, the DCR will be higher(closer to the SCR) and low-end torque will be beefy. The 28 and 29 are good candidates for boosted apps.
