4.6 fuel upgrade

They are Bosch 19# yellow top injectors,they are found in 4.6l and 5.0l fords.

Theres a few shops on ebay that sell reman sets for jeeps

Even in a stock engine 01XJ with the higher fuel pressure 49lbs 19# yellow tops flow less than stock. I still have the old spark plugs that shows I was running lean the whole time.

One of those links say you can use LT1 injectors,I tried that and smoked a transistor in the Renix ECU so I don't think they are compatable.

I have the 19# bosch in my XJ but I have also ran 24# bosch injectors in it,I really didn't notice any difference.

Looking at the numbers, even with my plans of turbocharging, it doesn't look necessarily beneficial to change injectors in my 96.

When I put the turbo on my Ford EXP I had to go from the bosch 19# to 36# to get it to not lean out under boost.

i ran LT1 or ls1, cant remember. in my renix before the cam crapped out on me, i like that they have 6 pintle holes.

We ran the XJ with the LT1 injectors for a couple weeks,they worked fine around town.

the first time we took it on a long distance trip is when it dropped a cyl,when i opened the ECU i found the transistor that fires that injector had let the smoke out. could be a problem with that particular injector but when i put in the new ECU i pulled them out and put the bosch yellow tops in, havent had an issue since.

My perception of these numbers is probably off. The Ford numbers look similar to the stock XJ number for my 96. What would be the best recommendation for a 96 Turbo XJ?

It varies depending on a few factors,I was planning to go around 36# which should be good for around 200hp on my 2.5.

On a 4.0L they should support closer to 300hp
