33's on 3" Lift?

I've got an '89 Wangoneer Limited (XJ) with 3" Skyjacker lift. Running 31's now (Goodrich KO's) with no problem. I've got disco's and have removed rear sway bar. Only had to adjust turn stops with washer to prevent rubbing on LCA's. Son has an '88 XJ, wants my tires and wheels (since he can't afford his own, and I want bigger anyway).

I'm considering 33's...but wondering if I'll have to trim front/rear. I've already trimmed front to the bottom of my Tomkin bumper...will rear of front rub? Will I need to trim rear of front, or trim rear?

I really enjoy the extra flex of the 3" lift and lack of rear sway bar, and the front disco's...wheels great! Just don't want to have to lift more...like the ride now. It's my daily driver...and need to keep things sane!

As always...any help is appreciated.

lots of chopping and it will be fine, just be sure to adjust bumpstops. you'll have to sacrifice a good amount of uptravel but if you cut enough it will still be sufficient.

ps. this kind of question belongs in mod tech.

How is this thread in any way related to OEM Tech?

Some good info is available in this thread:

I don't know how the Skyjacker kit ranks against the Rusty's 3" kit that I use as far as 'actual lift height', but with only the addition of 1.5" coil spacers up front, I'm fitting 33's with relative ease.
