For those with 96+ and 2" of lift what transfer case mods (drop kits, sye, etc) have you made? What were the vibs like? Any steering issues? I have a 2001 ltd with np 242.

Thanks

I have 2000 with the NP 242 and the 8.25 Rear and I had some major vibes and even a little u-joint grinding! I installed a 1" TC Drop and that solved most of the problems. I will probably end up putting some 2 degree shims in to get the driveline angle a little closer to perfection. I would like to go SYE, but that is a little pricy for me.

I installed 2° shims and had minor vibes on my '99 back in the day.

I'll be putting a 2" BB on my 2000 XJ in the next couple weeks. It has a D35 and NP231...I didn't buy a t case lowering kit or anything, but it sounds like I might be needing one...

Just to prove that Jeep can get different results out of the same components...I never had to use shims or spacers when I did a 2" RE BB and had no vibes. When I moved to 4.5" that changed, but for that small lift there was no problem

my 99 had vibes before the lift.. hell i had a "negative" lift cause it was sagging... went to 3.5" and they just got a lil ouder.. but more speed defined, meaning they are consistant at certain speeds.... a t/case drop and a 2.5 deg shim are getting me by for now but the SYE is definatley a nessecary evil with the newer "improved" t/case.... IMHO do it as soon as you can afford it.. before you get the itch to go taller...

I have a 1996 XJ with the OME 2" lift which actually gave me 2.75" and I did not have any vibrations at all. The only thing I had to have done was get the alignment done. I have a Dana 35 rear-end.
