Just another minion!
Time to grab your ankles again boys! Woke up this morning to head off to work.....had to fill up the camel. (Two tanks) And just couldn't believe it! The price jumped $.40 overnight! The guy at the station said he couldn't even get another tanker of gas for three weeks so the price hadto reflect this! Something about a refinery is out for repairs and another transfer line is out.....The timing (right before labor day travel) seems odd.
I supose the timing could have been worse. I just got back from a 1300mi. trip in my 7 mpg motorhome!

This is just a warm up for labor day. Lets see, wars over, OPEC has increased production 40% and prices per barrell on spec are going up, Hmmmm, something smells. Maybe time for a nationwide dont buy gas for 4 days. Those people on the stock market need a good ear slapping.
There is a broken gas line, drove the prices up overnite in colorado. Problem is people panic and the sellers take advantage of false or engineered shortages. They did it in 73 and they are doing it again.
When I flew with VP66 and VP64 on ASW patrols we would see the tankers anchored off the continental shelf waiting for the price of a barrel to go up 2-4 bucks then they would head for the refineries on the delaware.

Engineered shortages!!!! We have been getting scrwwwwed here in SoCal for years! They say that Cali uses gas processed in only 14 plants....special low emmision stuff....BS!!! When one has a hic-up the fuel prices soar!! But even this is beyond reason!
BTW what the heck is a VP66 and 64? Also ASW? Total civilain here!

Bush is also holding back "Strategic" reserves.

:dunno:

I call it Campiagn Fund Support. :)

Patrol squadron 66 and 64, flew on P2 Neptunes out of NAS Willow Grove Pa, then converted over to P3 orions. We patrolled the east coast from the keys to the arctic. ASW is Anti Submarine Warfare, considering I was a bubblehead [submariner] it was an interesting perspective. I used to fly as as an RTO Radio operator/observer when the opportunity presented itself, plus they liked that I could, and was allowed to actually repair the equipment to component level.

All I can say is that it has nothing to do with who is in charge..... Every time something happens in middle east (that was before) and the price spiked up, after the quarter when gas companies who have cried that they will loose money even at the hiked prices announced earning, they always announced huge earnings and it was always "oops.. looks like we didn't do too bad... we will lower it for a short while..."..... it's a plain issue of MONEY!!

And you know what, even if the only way to drop the price was to open up strategic reserves, I'd say dont do it, as they are there for a reason.... the fact that I will have to pay more to haul my lazy a$$ to store, or that I will have to think twice about where I wanna go and in what order to reduce the distance driven, I will pay/suffer such consequences..... and just so you know, this is really hitting me in the pocket as I drive 120+ miles a day and my XJ dropped to 15mpg for some odd reason!!!!!

Probably an additive the gas companies put in, that way even if cut your driving the lower mileage will make you buy the same amount to go shorter distances :D

From what I understand many gas stations here in The PHoenix area are closed...no gas....I was in Page yeaterdaya dn gotta love buying gas on the reservation......1.57.....

Hadto head into the city today to pick up some material for my sliders. Brought all my extra gas cans with and picked up a shwit load at $1.83. I am only 70mi. from there and I am paying the $2.31 here........tell me all about it!

$2.09 is the cheapest I have seen here in many months for regular. :(
