For sale: 1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ, with just under 150,000 miles. I purchased this a year ago from a gentleman in Virginia, and have since done much more work on it, as it was going to bring me to California this summer, but my plans have since changed. There is every little rust on this, as it was garaged, there is a little surface rust below one rear window, as well as a few spots on the underside, but overall, this is a VERY clean Jeep - Photos will tell, and ask for any more photos you may want to see.

Now for the bad, which really is not that bad:
- Leaking Oil Adapter - If you know this jeep, you know how common this is - I have the replacement o-rings as well as a custom made torx head tool for removing the adapter - just haven't gotten around to doing this. This is a small leak, and I've never had to top off the Oil between oil changes.
- Lower radiator hose leak - Hose is old and brittle - I was going to replace the water pump, both upper and lower hoses, along with the thermostat - so I have all parts, and all gaskets to go with the sale. - This is an intermittent leak, and tends to only happen when driving a few miles on a cold start - top up the coolant, and its a non-issue.
- Power Steering pump seal - This is leaking as well, which is why I purchased the Durango steering box to replace it - This is ready for swap, and requires nothing more than a pitman arm puller and some basic hand tools - top off the oil here and there, and its not an issue.
- Fuel pump - The all to familiar check valve has failed. What this is means is that the fuel flows back into the tank when you shut the car off. To get around this, you have to prime the engine (turn key to acc position for 3 seconds) a few times, and it starts right up. This is a well known issue, and the work around even has a nickname "poor mans prime". To fix this, you would need to drop the fuel tank, and replace the pump with a BOSCH fuel pump. This is about a $200 fix.

Jeep is currently located at my shop out in Plainview, Long Island, but I live in Queens, I can bring it home and show it in Queens, or I can meet you at my shop in Long Island, whichever is easier.

I am asking $7,000, the accessories alone are worth 3k. Compared to other XJ's in the area this is one of the cleanest, and probably one of the lowest miles. I will discuss offers, but I'm in no hurry to sell, as I have a daily driver, and I can use this when the weather is bad. I will not entertain offers, so please do not ask. This is being sold as-is, I just have to say that so that you understand there is no warranty, no implied warranty, nothing. Do not contact me if you do not have 7k in cash on hand, no checks, no shipping, no scams, no games, no tire kickers. It is currently registered in NC, and will need a NY inspection, if you plan on registering in NY.

If you would like any more photos, or a video of the engine running, I will be more than happy to provide you with one, just PM me.

It's a nice Jeep with some nice parts, but you'll need to cut the asking price in half before it sells.

Not necessarily in half, but it'll be a hard sell either way. I sold a very clean lifted XJ with 190k on it last fall for just under $5k and it didn't have half the quality parts that this one has. A guy in his late 50's loved the Cherokees but didn't have the means to do all the work to it. He couldn't walk away from it and paid cash on the spot. I would say fix the smaller issues with it to make it more appealing.

If you aren't in a hurry and you are willing to budge a bit on the price, it has potential to sell. Just probably not to anyone on here. haha.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I'm aware I may sit on it for a while, which is not a big a deal. I'm also open to offers. I don't mind dropping the price to get it to a good home, hate seeing it sit. It's on JeepForum, and CL. It'll sell eventually, thankfully I'm not in any real hurry.
