Taken out of my 97with 120K. New wheel bearings, shafts are in great shape, gears are good with no problems, but bearings howl and need to be replaced. The overhaul kit is available as well as the tool and micrometer for setting the backlash are all available for purchase in my other posts. I planned on rebuilding this one but I found a D44 i couldnt pass up.
Here's a ton of pictures of it...it still has fresh 75w90 in it or id pop the cover to show the gears.
They are in zip format which should be included in your version of windows.
