In the seven years I have owned this Jeep, I have performed regular maintenance and it has been very reliable. I have taken it to the Mojave Desert and Arizona at least once a year, and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. It can cruise at 80mph all day long or crawl down jeep trails better than any new 4-door SUV. It looks great from 20' away, but up close you can see plenty of small scratches, factory paint defects, and the clear coat flaking off the tailgate. One taillight is cracked but has worked fine that way for years.
The interior looks fine, this is the first year of the improved, more modern interior. The original floormats have always been in place. It has the full gauge package (some Cherokees lack even a temp gauge!). The ABS light is on, which means the brakes work fine but with no antilock--this never bothered me since I never triggered the ABS on the street, and when the ABS pumps the brakes on gravel or dirt it can actually increase the stopping distance.
Asking $3,200--if it sells for this price I will throw in a custom roof rack--it is a huge basket, bigger than commercial racks and sitting lower to the roof. On numerous occasions I have hauled bikes (including a tandem), kayaks, camping gear, a wheelbarrow, 20' rebar, etc. It can even fit 4'X8' sheets of plywood between the sides.
Give me your e-mail for pictures--be patient since I'm not online constantly.
