Well, you know how I figured the cherokee I got for $200 was a 91? well its a 90.. which explains why it isnt a H.O engine... I was curious what the advantages to having the AMC Renix engines are.... well, anyways, I picked the title up today, got the clutch functioning, ran a die through all the lug nut studs, and threw on 8 lug nuts that were missing... All I have left is to get 2 bolts for the tranny to crossmember mount and a nut and bolt for the crossmember, also have to snag a r/f headlight shroud.off my 89... then bolt the exhaust onto the exhaust manifold, get it registered, and drive it!! What is your guys opinions for me swapping my 3" rustys lift off my 89 and the 31's onto the 90? I like the deal with it being a 2 door and being able to cut the fenders easier... but what about the manual tranny? Will I be unhappy offroad with it? I love driving standard... What are the pros and cons of that??? I'm just trying to make up my mind if I should wheel this thing...Thanks guys!

Really

At 235,000 miles on my '88 5-speed, I still get about 18-19 MPG around town and 23 MPG on highway trips. When it was newer I got as high as 28 MPG on trips.

Keep in mind that being a 5-speed it has 3.07 gears. However, the axles are the same as that '89 sitting next to it, so if you decide to move the lift over, with a bit more work you could also swap over the axles and get 3.54 gears.

Gimme a call, I have something to discuss with you.

thats really good considering my 95 gets around 15-16 mpg.. i do drive it a little hard though..
