1987 4.0 oil pressure problem

1987 4.0 Renix, pulled into the garage 8 months ago with a seized AC compressor and alternator after sitting for a while. Had good oil pressure at that time. Did the repairs and started it to pull out of the garage and have no oil pressure, no oil at the rockers, like it lost prime. Is this possible to lose prime? Was also running like garbage, assuming that it is because of no oil to the lifters. Can I just pull the distributor and re-prime it?

Yes in time you can lose the prime in a sense but that also means the oil pump gasket is leaking, and yes to pulling the distributor.
