It may be bad info, but somewhere I read they had porous block casting issues in 00 and 01.

What if I went with a 98short block or rebuild this one, although I've heard they had block problems in00 and 01in as well, and found a newer head? Would ththe newer head have the same exhaust and coil mountings as the 01best 0331? What are the casting numbers of the newer heads TUPY foundry...

I am doingt the same swap and in need info. Any and all would be greatly appreciated. Like willl the older engine fit with the different oil filter mount? And are there ports inthe head for all of the latermodel sensors. I know you will have to fab a mount for the coil pack. Thanks
