i have an 84 cherokee 2.8 v6 and when i crank it up there is a strange clanking noise coming from inside the bell housin, at first i thought it might be the exaust clanking but its not that, I was wondering if anyone has this happen before, any info would be great.
i have an 84 2.8, with 31 inch tires and 4.10 gears, it pulls fine, i put an exhaust on it and rebuilt the carb. It runs perfect and I can take 4 banger xjs all day long.
Yeah so im pulling my carpet out last saturday to put some herculiner on the floors, and guess what i found out that the floor pans were rusted, so I ordered my 18 gauge steel and im planning on welding it up on sunday.

yeah i got an 84 2.8 myself. The first thing i did was got the carb rebuilt. Im planning on getting a weber in the future. Edlebrock makes quite a few parts for the motor also. heres a link alot of these parts are for your 2.8 and most of them will bolt right up...

Im gonna replace my old worn out 2.8 for a 3.4 v6. Ive got a couple questions though. Should I buy a new engine or get a used one? Should I stay with the stock carb off my 2.8 or get a different one? Also is there anything I should look out for while doing this swap or any thing else I would...
