it was a direct bolt on ....97 XJ auto 4 dr ....Chrysler 8.25 ...awww i see a freebe ...well then bolt er on ...not sure what your set up is ? but as long as your not running 35's with a V8 under the hood ...Im sure you will be fine ...the best thing about it is ..if you grab another shaft...

I wouldnt be concerned about it .....be more concerned about the Dana 30 in the front ....

grab your self some reverse pliers ...and a dental pick ...the pliers will make it super easy to get the ring clips out ....and the dental pick to put the pick up tube back into the pump ...theres a little o-ring on the tube that seals the tube in the pump..put the o-ring inside the pump ..makes...

take out the centre pin ..its held in there with a 8mm bolt ...when the centre pin is removed ..push in on the axle ..gives it enough room to slide the clip off ...it will just fall right out ...just pulled my buddies carrier out to weld it ...I think its a good axle ...easy to work on ...easy...

just went through this last weekend when I installed my SYE ...went to the Jeep wrecker ...grabbed a front drive shaft from a 98 V8 Grand ...fits in the rear perfectly of my 97 Xj with 5 inch lift ....the V8 shaft has a much larger spline and yoke ...much stronger than the front shaft of the xj ....

I realize I need uppers...but when I removed the upper control arms to see where the pinion angle should be ...the drag link hits my Discos...and track bar mount .....my lower arms are extended to 16 3/4 inchs to centre the axle in the wheel well ....so with the axle centred and the pinion angle...

rear seal ...welcome to the club .....all 4.0L leak at the front and rear seal ...high idle ...TPS sensor is toast....or vacuum leak ....Im on my 2nd TPS sensor in 3 months.....Im sure Im not the only Jeep owner with this problem!! carry a spare TPS ...

Last weekend lifted the XJ ..4.5 Rough Country plus 1.75 coil spacer..and 2" rear shackles...with lower adjustable Control arms...the kit was slightly used ...Im sitting at 6.25 inchs of lift...rear is shimmed ...and has mild vibes at 50 kms ..I have a SYE ..just have not installed yet... My...

Well this is all fresh in my mind ...Ive gone through this in the last couple weeks ....I did a 2 inch BB in my 97 first cause needed tires badly ....last weekend put a 4.5 inch kit in ....I can tell you this ..I put a TC drop kit in with the BB and it solved the Vibes....funny thing is it had...

I just lifted my XJ last weekend ...Rough country 4.5 with 1.75 coil spacer and 2 inch shackle in the back ...lower RC adjustable control arms ...but no uppers... you need both upper and lower adjustables ..lowers to centre your axle in the wheel well and uppers to adjust your pinion angle...

Thanks guys ....its all sorted.......not the result I was lookin for ...I was hoping I had an open dif ....could of scored a smokin deal on a Locker...oh well .....

anyone know what Track lock means on the Chrysler 8.25 rear end...its from a 97 Sport 4dr...Im trying to figure out if its a limited slip or open dif....I jacked up the back rotated the axle ..both wheels turn same direction ... yeah yeah ..I know take the cover off.....

Theres a sticker on the pass side of the axle with numbers and smaller print says TRACK LOCK ....mean anything ....?
