They fit on my 87....but I think that I had to stretch them out a little bit. It has been a few years now, but I believe I had issues as well.

The Tach wire on my 87 was a aqua (bluish green) and white wire, I had to trac it down when I installed my alarm with remote start. It can be found going to the cluster or by the coil. Hopefully this is the same for your 89. :)
