    LCA Bushing Motor Mounts

I just cut off the control arm ends and welded them to the stock base plate and has held up for over 7 years and 80K miles. More vibrations translated to the cabin, yes. Ghetto fab, yes. Since I had recently replaced the stock arms with Moog and within a year got inchitis, made sense to me since...

    Best Paint

I second the durability of dupli-colors Vinyl and Fabric paint, had it on the dash and armrests/handles on the doors as a test and has held up fine for over 6months. Now I plan on painting all tan items black in the truck and replacing the seats entirely. Still up in the air about whether or...

    5.2 or 5.9 compatability?

Not that wikipedia is the absolute gospel.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GMC_Syclone http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buick_Regal http://www.turbobuicks.com/forums/buick-v6-turbo-tech/ A buddy in High School had a 84 GN that I helped build it to 87 specs and a cousin that was 16 at the time the...

I can't search or post a new thread any more.

When I try to search or post a new thread, it says that I don't have permission to access the page. If you can fix this I would appreciate it. Thanks, Rob

    Ford Injectors

They fit on my 87....but I think that I had to stretch them out a little bit. It has been a few years now, but I believe I had issues as well.

    Apexi SAFC 2 Write Up!!!

The Tach wire on my 87 was a aqua (bluish green) and white wire, I had to trac it down when I installed my alarm with remote start. It can be found going to the cluster or by the coil. Hopefully this is the same for your 89. :)

    Motor mount recomendations

I had my stock lower control arms laying around with ~1 year old bushings in them and thought to myself why pay someone else ~ $100 for some when I can make some. I believe I cut off 3 1/4" on each end of one of the control arms, took apart the factory MM one at a time, and welded the end I...

    Rancho shock eye bushings

Autozone has some energy suspension poly replacements for like $5 that I picked up the other day and haven't had time to install them yet. I had to ream out the Rancho bushings when I first got them and put in a larger sleeve to accomodate a 1/2" bolt and now they are pretty much trashed.

    Ranch RSX Shocks?

I have been running them since they first came out a few years ago and I like them. I have the 13.25 travel shocks and have really banged them around and they still ride like I first got them. I was able to cash in on the buy 3 get 1 free deal that Rancho has once or twice a year as well. Shop...

    Ford 8.8 Swap

If you are building it yourself, then just get the spring perches locally at Tractor Supply, or any trailer supplier; shouldn't be more then $10-$15 bucks for the pair. All that you will need for shock mounts is a 1/2" or 9/16" bolt and some angle iron for high clearance mounts; or you can just...

    4wd @#$%ed up

I had some binding after the install of the transfer case drop on my 87 and just fabbed up a lower mount that attached to the factory bracket. You will have to pull your carpet on the drivers side to access 4 - 10mm bolts that hold the linkage together. There is a little plastic bushing that...

    Motor Mounts (bomb proof)

I have had it with my OEM type replacements from the local parts place and looking at getting Rusty's urethane mounts. I read the article on Jeepin.com which gave good reviews, just looking for other opinions on these. The OEM style ones I have now have a "lifetime warranty" but I don't...

Want to convert to the x297 series U Joints

    Just for a point of reference: X-260 = outside cap measurement of 1 1/16" X-297 or X-760 (2001 or newer) = outside cap measurement of 1 3/16"

    Cruise Control

look at the back of the stalk on the column... you should see some small guage wires that are probably kinked or cut from the usage of the windshield washer feature. AutoZone carries a replacement for about $30. This was the case with my '87
