Blaine B. may be right, I just ordered a set for a 2000 model, not sure if they contour to the crease but I'm hoping they do. Strange, I've never seen wide moldings on the later models, dealer said it was for the "Country Package". I'm trying to cover the knucklehead's scratches that took of the...
Really, I've never seen them on any of the newer models. Hmmm, ok, I'll try to get some from the dealer, but last time I was there I just picked a year (like 92) and they did'nt show on there parts breakdown. But thanks, I'll try again.
What year or years did the XJ come with those wide lower door moldings that start at the top of the crease and cover the whole bottom of the door? Can you get something like that anywhere other than the Dealer? I need the ones that actually are molded to contour that crease.
Well, I won't give any advice as I am kind of a newbee myself, but if you want a 8.25 with a 29 spline and a 30 with alloy usa axles (both have ARBs) I am upgrading and I will sell you mine. They are in a cherry 2000 xj with 42000 original miles. You can drive it with the axles in it. The gears...
I bought a XJ that has about 6” of lift and they used long arm bottoms and short arms on top. I took it to the local shop and they said “scrap it”. Apparently as the axle drops the pinion turns downward. Problem is the old upper control arm mounts are cut off and I’d just like to go back to a...
Thanks guys, I notice you both seem to live at low altitudes. My jeep is heavy and I'll be up between 3000-5000 feet quite a bit. But honestly you never felt like you wished you were geared lower for the blacktop? If not that's great cause it'll save me a bundle. Thanks!
...and if you are using it as a daily driver are you happy with the 4.56s or does it always leave you wishing you had 4.88s. I will be doing quite a bit of mountain driving from time to time and have to make a gear change. With the C8.25 it seems I'm stuck with 4.56s unless I put out a lot more...
Javik, thanks buddy! Sounds like an economical way to go. I'll see if I can find some guys around here to help me. I really wanted to go with 4.88s but it sounds as though it may cost me a lot more $. Anyone have 4.56.s with an auto and 33s, what are you tach-n at 65mph.
Thanks Yucca-Man, one more question, does everything bolt up the same on the high-pinion? Is it a strait swap? How about driveshaft length? I appreciate your help. Looks like I'll be off to the salvage yard soon.
Bogging big time. The jeep is loaded with skid plates, front and back bumpers, tire carrier and winch. I'll be driving it alot and this is hard on the engine and tranny so I need to deal with it now and enjoy the driveability and save the tranny in the long run. Wish he would have addressed this...
