thats a 97 + dash and im plannin on doing the same thing in my 96 ill post when i do but to my knowledge there should be enough room behind the vent to mount a small cb the only hard part would be running your wires and sealing your vent back up

im getting ready to put a 5" lift on my xj but now a little concerned about have the same problems what can i do now to help prevent these problems in the future? and what kind of setup are you running nice jeep btw thats about what i want my jeep to sit like

nice find thanks for the tip i was also thinkin maybe hook up a toggle switch to the door jambs that way you could kill the power to the switch itself when the doors are off and turn them back on when the doors are on do you think that could possibly work

great write guys i have been thinkin about going doorless since i have gotten my jeep and i never realized how easy it was. my only problem is with the door jambs switchs i dont want to totally disconnect them but some how just turn them off when the doors are off any suggestions?

i have a 1996 inline 4 5 speed 2wd that i want to convert to 4wd. i just have a few questions, i know im going to need a new front axle, transfercase, and front driveshaft, but is there anything else that would have to be changed out too? will the front axle from a 4wd xj fit under my 2wd...

well i got every thing fixed it was a messed up switch and two blown fuses (gauges and parking lights ) and a the battery cable was lose where it connects to the teminal replaced everything and everything works great again thanks for everyones help but im still trying to figure why my park...

i feel like such an idoit i got every thing fixed but it was a simple fix and i was overthinking it like i was always do my it blew a fuse and the battery power cable come lose from the terminal and was not making a good conection replaced fuses and new battery terminals and all is good again...

i have a 1996 4cly 5 speed 2wd with all kind of issues 1. no parking lights, but turn signals work high beam light works brake lights (when braking) works and reverse lights work, ive tried many part store headlight switch oem switches cheack fuses under dash and pd all good. still nothing...

will that PCM procedure work on a 1996 xj also?

i did read one post where it was talking about the indentions on the bottom of the switch had something to do with the park light problem with the part stores switches and thats why they only come on in the inbetween spot and no where else is that possibly the problem?

and with the gauges none work at all but my turn signal lights work and highbeam indicator works also but no gauges im thinkin its a fuse but which one i cant find any diagrams in the manual or online saying which fuse number indicates what the fuse controls any diagrams containing this info...

yeah i have realized now that its not a safety feature just an uneducated person who dont know how to read a wiring diagram and hooked something up wrong and i doubt that it was done that way for wheeling because the jeep is still bone stock and judging by the rust on the bottom its spent quiet...

well i know for sure that there is not any alarm system. but you dont have to push in the clutch to crank it, my main problem is the headlight switch and getting pos switches from the parts store where the park lights only come on in the inbetween position ive been researching on here and found...
