I ripped my carpet out a couple weeks ago so I could weld the cage in.. I am going to Line-X the inside. The smell has cleared up considerably since the nasty carpet was torn out. If you are driving an XJ with some age on it I recommend the extraction...

My '88 has holes... I'm sure an '01 would also.. don't think the automotive industry would glue interior pieces together...

The cage was a D & C cage I purchased on ebay... it is 1.5" OD and fits together nicely..

Anyone running an interior gas tank in an XJ.. love to see a photo of the set up... On most inside fuel cell do you fill them up by sticking the nozzle inside the vehicle or do you need to run the filler tube to the outside of the body...

I usually don't open the port hole unless I'm running offroad.. the engine stays in a good temp range on the highway... If we are going offroadin' in an area where there is a stream, river or small ocean were we can play in I put the snorkel hose through the opening as well... I still need to...
