I've done 4 sets of stiffeners, some mid, others the full frame. There are only a handful of things to actually care about. 1) clean base material. Get all the schmoo off, to bare metal. 2) get the stiffeners to fit tight with no gaps if possible. 3) a good weld to properly bond the stiffener to...
I have the Ironman brace, and it does indeed tighten up some flex in the steering. I did however loose the ability to use the factory front skid, but I suppose it's enough steel that it proy provides similar protection.
I've got a 4.0 I pulled from my 98 that I need out of the garage. It's got about 200k on it. I'm including the 136a alternator and modified bracket. It's also got a Melling high volume pump that I put in 40k ago. I'm also including the engine harness, fusebox, starter, and manual transmission...
Just make sure that you don't spread the two halves of the female terminals so far that they don't spring back together. If anything, you want to try to make those tighter.

I run a 242 behind my TDI/nsg370 combo, and before that behind an ax15/4.0 for quite a while too. I wouldn't have it any other way. It's got some shudder under acceleration if you launch it just right, but the additional traction is real.
I put a tom woods HD SYE and zj front output in mine...
I used a nozzle cleaning tool (oxy/acetylene rig) to scuff the contacts on the plug and the socket and a bunch of dielectric grease to prevent future oxidation. That was 6+ years ago, and probably 100k. It's time consuming to hit every single pin, but it's cheaper and easier than the full...
There's not a limp mode as far as I know, which means you can add the loss of power to your symptoms list. I'd start going through sensors, ohming them out one at a time, starting with the TPS, then the MAP. There's some great info burried on here about the various impedances of the various...
One other thing I’ve spent a lot of time on is the transfer case shifter. I really like the looks of the atlas twin stick cable shifter, so I got one. They are quite pricy, and unbeknownst to me use a non-standard cable length, so there was a lot of fab to make it work.
The simplest...
I threw a belt! As predicted by some, the belt walked into the timing cover and shredded all it was worth. Fortunately, I was sitting in the drivers seat and turned it off before any damage could occur. The fix is to use pullies with flanges. Easier said than done! I read somewhere that the...
It is time for my wiring writeup. I’ve put a lot into the wiring on this Jeep. I’m only going to document the non-obvious parts. For the obvious parts, I used this diagram:
AC Control
The AC is the craziest, so I’ll start there. The AC Circuit is broken into three parts:
AC Request Relay
AC...
