what an overly complicated system for such a basic concept. I can try the shifter over to the right and pull it back into low will have to tear it apart and see what's up. Thanks for the info.
so is there anything that can be fixed in the shifter assy to repair it or should I just replace it? Wish I had on to look at to see it function to figure it out
1990 Jeep Cherokee My shifter won't move to the right to allow it to go back into 4 low. Is this a problem with the linkage under it or the shifter assy. itself?
progressively got worse now it rarely engages into reverse. Any ideas? Also does anyone have the wiring diagram for the module and the trans range sensor? Thanks
The connector to the switch is missing 1 pin and the other 2 are almost gone due to corrosion so I think that will fix it if I can find a connector for it
started checking it out today and found the 3 wire connector at the Drivers door ajar switch has the pins rotted out. Does anyone know of a source for these pigtails? I have searched online but nothing comes up. Thanks
yeah I did that. I've had the Jeep for 15 years so I know all the switches, This has to be something else nothing will turn them off. Thanks though for the reply
The interior lamps are staying on all the time in my 90 XJ, I tried the headlamp switch and the cargo lamp switch, Neither turn it off. I have fooled with the door jam switches even replaced the Drivers door switch. Any clues are appreciated.
