    Battery cable routing

Basic automotive knowledge question: The cables on our 89 were extremely frayed, so we replaced them today. But now the Jeep wont start, won't even try. Like as if we didn't have a battery in it at all. I just need someone to confirm: the positive cable runs from the positive post to the...

    Death of a legend

I'm sure everybody has heard that Johnny Cash passed away this morning. I'm kicking myself b/c I had a chance to see him perform a few years ago on his last tour, but I didn't make it. I've never liked most country music, but it seemed to me that Johnny had a song for whatever mood I was in at...

Bump Stop Removal for Coil Spacers?

I tried twist it with chanel locks and "wiggling" it around but it still won't budge. I also tried greasing the spacer and the metal part and forcing it over but it won't go over. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

Bump Stop Removal for Coil Spacers?

Should just the bumpstop (rubber part) unscrew, or the whole mounting cup (metal part)? There's no way the spacer is going to slip over the stuff, the hole in the spacer is much too small.

Bump Stop Removal for Coil Spacers?

I've done a search, but I couldn't find anything that specifically answered my question. We put the Rusty's 3" kit on 2 weeks ago, and the back end was way higher than the front, so we ordered some Daystar 2" coil spacers. When we went to put them on today, we cant seem to get the front bump...

Need help to ID cooling system part

Now the mystery part has a name, and I have a new question. Our Jeep has nearly 200K miles on it, and what I assume is the original radiator. Also we have some hose clamps, but many things I assume are the aluminum bands (silver, look sorta like a thread spool). I've also read a couple sites...

Need help to ID cooling system part

OK, I tried to take a picture to make this easy, but my computer sux and won't recognize the camera. The Jeep is an 89 4.0, and yesterday a hose came off on the way home from the shop and leaked coolant all over. Here it goes: there is a hose that starts at the t-stat housing and runs back...

    Putting on lift . . . Help

I'm glad to hear that the leafs will settle down a little. Right now, it's still on 235/75/15s that it came with, so that's kind of highlighting the gap. Here's another question: we went with the 3" lift b/c we wanted to run 31"s, but we broke out the tape measure and 31"s on the front would...

    Removeable Doors?

Check out www.performanceutilityvehicles.com. They're supposed to come out with "door gates", kind of like safari doors, sometime soon.

    Putting on lift . . . Help

Well, after much wailing and gnashing of teeth, the lift is on. But there's a problem. The Jeep has a rake to it, and I mean a Superbird from Joe Dirt style rake to it. Will the back end settle down at all?

    LBL wheelin'

It definately sounds and looks like a blast, and it sounds like you don't have to mod the hell out of an XJ to have fun there, but where in KY is it? Based on the photos, I'm guessing central to eastern part of the state. Thanks, sternbal. You posted as I was writing :)

    LBL wheelin'

Where/What exactly is LBL? I have family in Kentucky that I see on occasion, and that looks like a fun place to go.

    Putting on lift . . . Help

We're installing a Rusty's 3" lift (with new springs, not Add-a-Leafs) that we just got in today. The instructions are a little less than clear for our skill level. Where do you mount the brackets for the rear brake line extensions? Thanks for any help, and any links to pics would be greatly...
