    thanks! how do i know if it is the chain? since the transfer case was bone dry, i guess the gasket(?) went bad? I think i changed the fluid about 2-3 years ago in the transfer case. also worried that more damage has been done to the transfer case, esp since i drove a couple 3 hour trips and...

    When in 4 wheel drive and you hit the gas it sounds like my transfer case is making a LOUD clicking noise. Fluid was non-existant in transfer case(oops), re-filled it, and the noise is still there. Heard it might be the chain in the transfer case? Anything else? Is a chain replacement...
