    WarGin Returns!

So stoked for wheelin season, it's almost upon us! Walked a ~ mile long loop in woods a few days ago and I'm pretty confident it can be easily blazed in a good afternoon of hustling . If the friggin snow would hurry up and melt. And stop being added to.

    WarGin Returns!

So got a lot of the floor and those plates welded in. Total newb at welding and slowly self teaching, but it's pretty hard running a cheap machine with flux core and getting decent beads, especially on sheet metal! Blowing fewer and fewer holes but the welds still look like crap. The floor is...

    WarGin Returns!

Progress made, despite more then inclement weather. I hate snow now. Painted more and cut more 1/4 inch plate to beef the spring hanger and unibody. The crossmember will be bent back and welded to plate, and I'll probably throw a gusset or 2 in to boot.

    WarGin Returns!

Attacked some cancer today! My shop vac is MIA, so I can't clean up all the crap till I borrow someone's. Then the rust on the doors and quarters pissed me off so I ground them down and threw some rustoleum on it till I get filler. Then I decided to just paint the body line down black...

    WarGin Returns!

All things considered for a 1984 vehicle it's not bad at all. Recently acquired a pair of heated leather, mechanical seats from a PT cruiser, so once the floor is patched and solid I'll have to see what can be done to accommodate them. Also thinking of a quick spreader bar between C pillars, I...

    WarGin Returns!

Spent all day gutting the interior. I knew the cancer was bad around the front leaf mounts but I wanted to be somewhat thorough and get eerything at once. Wheeling season is upon us and I want to blaze trails at my house. Everything was pretty straightforward until I got to the front seats. The...

    THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread I might've sold my Austin Healey. If I did,I gotta find a super cheap tow rig.

    Transmission getting thrown around?

I think I've been asking question relevant to modified tech. I asked if anyone has fabricated motor or transmission mounts here. Like I said I've seen them made with leaf spring bushings, but was wondering about the durability of such an option compared to OEM or aftermarket mounts. Settled with...

    Transmission getting thrown around?

All the mounts are definitely toasted. I was able to push the tranny off the mount, the metal plate is completely separated from the rubber. Motor mounts are almost on metal. @ cruiser54, The tranny mount is currently under the ax5, and was wondering if moving the crossmember back 10" and...

    Transmission getting thrown around?

Guess I can't get out cheap on this one. I'll spring for good motor mounts, and fab something up for the transmission/transfer case. Speaking of, what is the difference between securing the transmission versus the transfer case? I've seen both, I'm not opposed to having to build a new...

    Transmission getting thrown around?

Crap, didn't even think of that. Thanks, Ill get on those. Is there a poly insert for the stock mounts to strengthen them at all, or am I stuck ordering the pricier stuff if I'm interested in durability... Ride and vibrations don't worry me as this rig is trail only, I'd just like more then 3...

    Transmission getting thrown around?

Hey all, On my 84 2.5L, AX5-NP207, 5" lift I tried to run a pretty steep incline with 1.5' of snow, lost momentum and all of the sudden the whole jeep was shaking violently, like very badly. Let off the gas, it stopped then gunned it again, and the same thing happened when I lost traction; when...

    THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread I say go for the land rover. They are seriously worth it as long as they were taken care of. Make sure the seller has all receipts of work done AT A LR DEALER. That is the killer as 90% of normal mechanics can't...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread I got a 1/4" and it stopped. And it's sunny at my house.
