I disagree completely, the stock cat impedes performance in a big way. However, for those of you with $$, a high-flow cat will not impede performance at all and will perform as good or better as a factory cat in terms of exhaust cleanliness.

How long have you been having the problem (drifting, that is)? Sounds like an alignment issue, when's the last time you had it checked?

No one using MSD Super Conductor 8mm plug wires? Just curious, as I'm about to do a tune up on my jeep and I've had extremely good results with them on everything from 360 v8's to 3.0L HO v6's.......

Getting any noise from the wheel bearing? I would think that it would pull even under acceleration if it was really shot....

Voltage regulator, perhaps? Had the same exact problem in a '76 Volare Roadrunner that my brother had. Real pain in the ass at 3:30 in the morning in the middle of nowhere.....

It could well be that the track is just dirty from non use. Pull off the door panels and spray some spray lube (preferably not WD40) along the track while rolling up/down the windows.... You can also check the wiring to the motors, I hear that's a common problem on XJ's with power windows and...

Backpressure creating torque is a complete myth, and has been proven so several times. Most of the time low-end torque is reduced by changing the frequency of the exhaust pulses from that which is usually designed into the exhaust manifolds and in some cases the downpipe depending on factory...

Just out of curiousity, if you switched the tires from left to right and it changed how it pulled, then why not switch front to back and see if that eliminates the issues all together? Just a thought on a possible easy fix....

God I'm tired of seeing people say this, for the record: Today's synthetic oil has less detergents in it than today's high quality dino oils!! They need far less additives (including detergents) because they have refined their synthetic base stock to such a level as they are not required...

Midrange and midbass would only need more power because they are so far away, but if you're going to have a sub in the back then the only speakers that you will really get any sound from (realistically speaking) are the ones in the front. Use the midbass from the 6 1/2's and mount the tweets...

I'm not trying to "rub his nose in it," I really have no problem with the fact that he chose to take it to a shop -- I'm just floored that a shop would charge that much for a 20 minute job requiring no materials.... I work at a shop, if we charged people that way we would have no business...

It's a question of weight, gearing, and power mods (if any). The strip is all about how much power you have to pull how little weight you have with as low a gearing as possible.....
