    Rustys Exhaust

I have the Rusty's 50 series kit with the rest of the exhaust stock. It's still pretty loud at idle but I really don't notice it at highway speeds. I'm really glad I got it instead of the 40 series.

    3 inch lift question!!!!

I've gone over 20,000 miles with a 3" lift and the stock trackbar. No problems at all. I did change lower control arms, but but a lot of people don't.

    Hi, Im new here...

I got the XJ because of my wife as well. Something about her thinking she needs a 4 door to get the baby seat in and out and me thinking I'm not driving something that can't be cool. I had it lifted before the temporary tag expired, and the baby seat is a tight fit... You'll find a lot of...

Dealer BS'ing me??? Fuel pump tech

I've had pumps in other cars that would work when they were cold and die after driving a while, and having the pump submerged in gas helps keep it cool. My dad had his pump quit a couple times in Tennessee and could start it again after he let it cool down. He was able to drive it back to Ohio...

    Grrrrrr!!!! tailgaters!!!

Actually the thing they are trying to tell you is that they place a higher value on getting wherever they are going in a hurry than they do the lives of everyone else on the road. While it’s safest to get out of their way, they deserve to be delayed as long as possible.

    Track Bar Relocation Bracket

Save the bracket for last, you may not even need it. When I did my 3” lift I did everything else and looked to see if it had pulled the axle off-center. Without the bracket the axle is close enough to center that I can’t tell a difference in how the tires line up with the flares by eyeballing...

    house buying peeps

Check if you have access to a credit union through work or whatever. My mortgage is through Navy Federal and there was no PMI on a conventional loan as long as we put somewhere around 3 or 5% down. It was a really low limit whatever it was. I think PMI on 150k would have been around $80 a month...

Looking for some local help... I.E. Centrall MA

It might be cheaper/easier to get a complete junkyard axle to swap in. As long as the body side brackets are ok it could be a wrenching project instead of a welding one.

    pulsting breaks

Nothing to do with the brakes, but… If you change the ride height you need to do an alignment. Jeeps will pretty much always track straight since they are solid axle and the toe in is the only thing that can be adjusted. If it’s off both tires will scrub equally and it will track straight. For...

    shackles

Shackles lift half of their extra length, so a shackle that is 3" longer than stock will provide 1.5" of lift. For a 2" lift the shackle needs to be 4" longer than a stock one.

Whats the best way to insulate/soundproof my 96

I’ve heard that “Ice Guard” is a good cheap substitute for Dynomat and is cheap. I’ve been planning on trying it this summer on mine if I get time. You can get it from Home Depot and is the stuff they put along the roof edges on houses before they put the roofing shingles on. It looks like...

stolen MJ in Arizona, need help please

That sucks. Even with full coverage the insurance isn’t going to want to give him much for it. With any luck someone stole it for a little joyride and to maybe steal a few parts. He might get it back needing little more than a new set of wheels, a door lock, and a steering column. A friend of...

take my T case drop off or not ???

Yes. The TC drop reduces ground clearance, puts stress on the exhaust, and is not needed with the SYE kit. You will most likely need to shim up the rear axle a little to get the right driveline angles, but that should be part of the job anyways.

Bad Lifters ? Need some Advice

You could try ATF or kerosene, but I wouldn’t drive it around too much with it in. Most of the engine cleaning additives made for this are about 80% kerosene anyways, just smell a bottle at the auto parts store if you don't believe it. Their instructions are something along the line of this...
