    Ironman 4x4 long arm

I have it installed. Still need to weld and I don’t have a wrench big enough for the jam-nuts

    Ironman 4x4 long arm

I’m going to use JK upper control arm bushings at the axle. This will increase the bolt from 10mm to 12mm. I hope to press them in tomorrow afternoon. I’ll probably drill out the Metalcloak arms to 12mm so I can keep the XJ on the road. I hope that won’t kill the resale value of them.

    Ironman 4x4 long arm

It’s been a while and I’ve still not made much progress. Between work, wife and a trip to Lee Vining I’ve not had much time. I did farm out the exhaust modification this last weekend. I should have plenty of clearance for the upper and lower passenger arms.

Just completed 1 side. Way too many holes to drill!

    Holes for hood vents

I picked up some never installed Naiper hood vents recently and am in the process of installing them. It’s typical to cut a big section (7” x 10”) of the hood out under the vents providing a whopping 70sq inch opening (per side). the slits in the vent are approx 1/4” tall and 7” wide and there...

    Ironman 4x4 long arm

Unfortunately the lower arm will hit the exhaust too. I need to reroute the trans cooler lines and then tuck the exhaust. After that it should be, famous last words, an easy install

    Ironman 4x4 long arm

The mock up has started. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot time before I go on a jeep trip in a few weeks and I won’t get it done in time. I know what I need to do for the exhaust and I’ll gather parts in the meantime.

    Ironman 4x4 long arm

Craigslist. It was on there for over a month. I had purchased drop brackets and thought they would be “fine”, especially with my metal cloak short arms, until I saw how low they hung. During that time this kit was calling me and I finally contacted the seller. I put a few, brush on, coats of...

    Ironman 4x4 long arm

I picked up the long arm kit. Got a screaming deal at less than 1/2 price. I’m not sure when I’ll get it installed, but I hope in the next few weeks. I’ll post my progress

    Ironman 4x4 long arm

Considering Ironman 4x4 long arm kit. It’s hard to find install pics on the he web, so I was looking to see if anyone has some to share. I did search and came up short. Also, thoughts on this kit and installation challenges? Thanks in advance

    Death wobble after WJ swap

Jeepedo, thanks for your reply. I like how you did the stabilizer, and I may copy it. For the 1 ton tie rods I reamed the knuckles on an end mill and carefully checked the depth. They are solid. The rear suspension is in good shape. It looks like you are using the Stinkyfab track bar bracket...

    Death wobble after WJ swap

I’m getting a wheel balance this morning. I’ll ask them to check the alignment too. I have tried to mock up the steering stabilizer, but there is not a lot of space to put it. I did pick up a set of Rocky Road control arm drop brackets from Craigslist. Installation pending and no “permanent”...

    Death wobble after WJ swap

Quick update: made some toe adjustments. First did an unmeasured 2 full bar rotations toe in to see what would happen. The results was severe death wobble. Put it back to to where it was and yanked the tires, mounted the “toe bars” and set it to 3/16”. It drove pretty good and I did not get any...
