There are 18 pages in this thread at this point and I would like to ask a question. Has there ever been Jeep engine that spun a bearing, locked up or the engine just quit and a qualified tech determined that it was the wrong BRAND oil that was at fault. I think if the viscostiy is what the...
I was looking for the late model -1996 to 2001- pictures. I had the grill and headlight trim off while doing some headlight wiring and thought they might look good painted satin black to match my winch bumper. Now they came from the factory grey to match the rest of the body. I would like to...
Has anyone ever painted their grill and head light trim black on a grey/light colored late model (1996-2001). I was wondering what it would look like on my silver-grey 2001. If you could post pictures I would appreciate it.
I bought a new in the box Warn M8000 for $450 plus $50 shipping about 3 months ago on Ebay. I tried bidding for about a week but the prices would go up and I finally found the "buy now" priced one for $450.
I just read all 14 pages of this discussion and had a laugh. I have a Harley and read the Harley Tech Talk forums and they have the same discussion once or twice a week! Harley owners are more picky with their oil than Cherokee owners are. The question is how many 4.0 litre engines have you...
I had to add 1 3/4" spacers to my 3" coil after a bumper/ winch combo. I added RC drop brackets at the same time and haven't noticed my coils bending and hitting anything yet. If you think about it when you add a spacer above the coil you have increased the distance from the top of the axle to...
I have a pump like the one in the picture that I had on a CJ7 project at one time. It is very noisy as it cycles on and off. I ran it for a month or so and removed it.
Brazing uses a brass or bronze silicone rod and the rod is melted by using a oxy-acetylene torch or a tig torch and is basically a metal glue. The tailpipe isn't melted, only the rod. If he used a coat hanger (cheap steel) then he welded the two together, both the tailpipe and the rod were...
I did this a couple of weeks ago and used a four foot level on the ground and touched the bottom edge of the tire and the top edge of the tire like a straight edge. Then I thought about a different size buldge of each tire on the ground and that would give a false measurment. So I moved the...
To keep from hitting it with a large hammer you may try a large C-clamp and try to squeeze it on the rod. You probally won't get it the first try but I believe it would work.
Looks like you are trying to pull the wires off and can't figure out the combination lock that holds them on. I can't help you but here is what I do when I am having this problem and I can't get close enough to figure it out. I try to find another wire end somewhere under the hood that has...
If you are buying a new tube of RTV then make sure you get the sensor safe kind. You may need it in your application or you may not. Same price or close to it.
Are you trying to remove the tie rod ends or are you trying to move the adjuster in the center of the tie rod? Use PB penetrating lubricant (let it work for awhile) and if you are removing the tre then use a pickle fork and a large hammer. The adjuster should move after loosening the bolts...
