Why!!?? trust me, I had one.. ..it's a way better the 4.0!
The 2.1 TD is very slow but is reliable.. ..the 2.5 TD is quite powerful but VERYVERYVERY unreliable.. ..The head cracks every 60K miles!
Here's some specifics about XJs in Italy:
The XJ has been sold from 1987 to 2001
The 87-95 version was available with these engines:
- Renault J8s 2.1 litre turbodiesel 86 hp 155 kmh (96 mph) only base or limited trim levels, 2 or 4 doors, only manual transmission, 231 transfert case

I want you to know that the biggest Jeep hangout in Italy is the Jeepersmeeting located in Maggiora (NO).. ..this year we were 250 Jeeps..

I forgot to tell you that my XJ is a 4.0 Limited automatic with an LPG system (gasoline is very expensive in Italy something like 1.40€ for 1 liter:shocked::shocked:.. propane costs 0.60€ for 1 liter)
