Yeah, our record-breaking number of days over 110 degrees here in the valley sucks huh?
Do make sure you add dye and check the easy spots for leaks first (if you haven't already). I did the dye thing myself once, then had a shop do it, and another shop with an electronic leak detector check it...
Thanks for the info, how long did it take you total?
Still hoping to find that writeup with pics... but your instructions are at least way more straight-forward than the FSM. Thanks again!
I need to replace the evaporator on my 2001 XJ and the FSM and Haynes manuals kinda suck on what exactly has to be done to get the right parts of the dash out and into the HVAC housing.
I've seen several people post a link to a writeup, but that link's dead...
Rusty's Offroad adjustable uppers and lowers with 4"-4.5" of lift. I've had the kit on (including drop bracket and heavy duty tack bar) for months and no problems. Then suddenly I started getting a clunk a couple times when turning the wheel either direction. I had someone turn wheels and I...
This may seem like a silly question, but I've got no experience with ball joints.... I currently have my steering knuckles off on my 01 XJ's stock dana 30, the upper ball joint stud turns in only one axis, the lower ones however can twist all around just like a TRE, is that normal?
I would...
Ever hear anything on this? I have a 01 with all the pre-cat/multiple 02 sensor crap, and I'd also like to know if there are any options for upgrade? (and still pass emissions)
Thanks for the quick reply. I like most everything about the Rigid bumper more than any other out there. I'm still not sure about the screw down type latch?? and I'm not sure if I want to have a different carrier fab'd locally, or just modify his (tire sits to high for my tastes).
Did a search...
I didn't know he had finally finished the design for people with cut corners. Can you post some more pics from side that show's what the whole jeep looks like with that bumper? And maybe some angle pics, and a close up of the latch? Thanks!!!!!!!!!
Try also searching for a 3156 as that is actually what it is (3157 has 2 filaments, only really need the single for reverse). I have a 35 watt xenon in but I can't remember where online I got it. I believe 27 what is the standard "bright" ones - that aren't really that bright!
Aha... this looks...
All of my Rusty's parts have been fine. I've talked with him through email and phone a few times and he's been very helpfull. My only complaint with him is that shipping always seems high. I think it's because he's shipping from a more remote area than most, but not sure.
Though much more of a "consumer" level radio than those mentioned so far, I love my Midland 75-822:

It fits in my center console untill I need it during a trail run. I like it becuase you...
Silly question..... which way do I mount Rusty's rear shocks (they are very cheap standard shocks, not gas charged - I don't think)? I believe that on regular shocks like this, the piston points up, and the main body has to be on the bottom?
I talked to the guy (brian?) today at JCR about the problems I have with current setup and what I could expect if I bought his new steering system. Just wanted to let everyone know that he was very helpfull and seemed like a great guy, very honest about the product. Thanks!
