I have used mine a few times now and it works great!!! My brother xalexjx has used his alot and it works great! It pulled him up a 50ft incline that was not wheelable, tired 20 times or so to make it over the obstical and had to winch! The battery ran out of juce b4 the winch did:scottm:

I run 35s 8.25 27 spline open and have no problems. I run pretty hard 2. I do have a habbit though of breaking the d30 shafts up front... even went through one aussie locker:(
Not sticking up for my reciever by any meens.. works good for what i need it for which is a solid tow point.. also acts as a front crossmember... personaly if i had the money I would have a winch bumper and a winch.. but i dont so a 100$ reciver it is.:flipoff:

I run a reciver and mine doesnt seem to stick down to far... do you have a lift?

I like this set up and when i get a winch i will be fabbing a mount like this... I dont think this sticks out to bad, and it would fine on my XJ... I am at 6.5" of lift with 35s so i dont think...
Thanks, Like i said in my other post i mounted mine 1-2 inches back a little farther than it suggests. Mounting points are still just as strong, but you have to drill 4 holes instead of 2. I am happy with my set up.
you think yours sounds bad? Try my 92 with over 200k on the clock. I have 6.5 lift 35s, and the doorless mod. Due to years of flexing i have about a 1/2 gap in each front door. the hatch rattles and all my gear and tools in the back... my 98 tj makes even more noise when i run my soft top...
