    Hard Clunk-Jolt When Throttle Released

Thanks Mickey! I'll give that a try - I know the splines haven't been touched and got to be dry. That would be nice if it works!

    Replacing Flexplate What Else?

Perhaps the holes in the crankshaft were wallowed out as well ? If that turns out to be the case - make them heli-coil crankshaft as locktite would be a very temporary fix.

It was also suggested that it could be a failing converter since it's ONLY on sharp deceleration . Trans feels perfect otherwise.

    Hard Clunk-Jolt When Throttle Released

Interesting.... This would explain the lack of a clunking sound leaving just the sensation. As for bad mounts , especially trans, it usually comes with a 'shimmy' under hard accel . Got none of that. It was suggested to me that the stat not letting things come up to normal operating temps...

    Hard Clunk-Jolt When Throttle Released

Thanks Tim I'll crawl under it myself and see. Had a respected garage check it a couple weeks ago because I assumed it was u-joints.... except there's virtually no 'noise' associated with it - but it's a hell of a jolt. Thanks again....

    205/65/15's O.K. For Snow Tires ?

Thanks for the input Soapy1. I ended up getting a set of 215's mfg date 2014 and stored indoors. Fingers crossed. They 'look' good and with funds getting tight it will have to do. $160.00 for the tires and $80.00 for a set of stock aluminum wheels.

    Hard Clunk-Jolt When Throttle Released

Recently acquired this Cherokee and working thru a few issues , this is the latest: '95, 4.0, AW4, np242, 35 rear, 173K miles. Rear diff rebuilt 40K ago, all u-joints checked good, all mounts good no vibrations. * Has 180 degree stat installed scheduled to be replaced with 195 degree* THE...

What To Do : Vacuum Harness's Discontinued ?

I've got a '95 4.0 auto with 173K miles on the clock . Just recently picked it up. I see that the vacuum harness (53006235) from the intake to the fuel pressure regulator is cracked pretty bad at both molded 90 degree elbows. It appears this harness isn't gettable anywhere . What do you guys...

    205/65/15's O.K. For Snow Tires ?

Fantastic insight folks. I'm officially taking the 205's off the table . I found a really nice set of 215's but haven't pulled the trigger yet. 235's huh ? They'll clear on a stock suspension (good condition) XJ ? That's interesting. One thing I can't escape around here is the fact that...

    205/65/15's O.K. For Snow Tires ?

I'm in Lewiston so not a ton of hard pack snow (as I understand) but very cold temps bringing ice and slush. Craigslist ! Good tip on those studs. These tires have excellent pictures and they "look" damn near new. I've been looking for a while and have lots of different pictures to reference...

    205/65/15's O.K. For Snow Tires ?

Thanks for the reply... I have heard , alternately, that Narrower tires work better in the snow/ice and also as you suggest - Wider tires work better. Hmmm.

    205/65/15's O.K. For Snow Tires ?

Hi guys. New member here and i'm looking for some input/opinion on a purchase i'm about to make. I found a near new set of studded snows for my stock '95 XJ. I realize that 215's are the stock size tire but these things are such a great deal i'd like to grab 'em if there's no issues. I commute...
