So if you want to drop that XJ body on a truck frame then when you do it think of the xj body as a skin, try not to hang or mount anything to it like seats, cage, motor, steering, blablabla, you get the idea, and sink the 'body' over the frame not like what ever carbody on truck tars do...

a guy here in tx did this with his zj and it held up but the looks where questionable. i used 1 7/8 1/8 wall tube that is 27 bucks for 21 foot and bought a HF bender and whent to town on it and was easier than i thought it would be. the notching is easy just try to make as many 90 degree notchs...

lol yah the blue one is kinda rediculous looking. looks like they just stacked the body ontop of the truck frame and welded away. thats not what i was talking about.

thought about that. The k5 is already boxed and figured once you add a interior cage with some exo caging it might be fairly stiff with lose flexxy suspension

how did that work out for you if you did the swap

yes i understand that the xj is a unibody I have a completly built k5 blazer chassis that was a trail roll victum and i also have an 88 xj body sittin behind the shop. the xj was hit in the front so that is the main reson for thinking about the swap. and of course a cage would be included in...

I seached and searched but know luck. does anyone have pics or a how to write up or anything of a chevy frame swap. my idea would be to cut the stock "frame" off and go from there. Any ideas.....................
