When you put the new HB on just run it up close to what looks like it's all the way on, then take your tork wrench and set it and tighten it till it clicks and your done. Just did mine this past week, no problems. Hope this helps.
Just an idea, since there isn't much room under there, I just bought an air hammer from Lowes for about 30 bucks and just knocked the weld nuts out. Much easier than swinging a BFH in thar small space and the air hammer will can be used for lots of other jobs on the XJ.
Don't mean to hijack, but on my 88, the switch used to work and I used it on long trips or when I was pulling my trailer. For the last couple of months it hasn.t worked, Do any of you know what would cause this to happen? Thank's for your help and sorry for hijacking. :confused:

Just because your radio can be heard good doesn't mean it's set right. A radio with high SWR's will talk good and be quit loud, but it will burn your radio up for sure. :piratefla
