My 91 runs the exact same pressure range. I'm thinking his engine is normal in that regards. Personally, I get more nervous over low pressure than high.
Do you get any noise...even a click out of the wiper? Mine went and that's all I heard back there. It was corrosion in the wiper gear case. Another working wiper on eBay ran me 15 bucks plus shipping.
Ahhhh heck!!
You're ALL right and I'm stupidly dead wrong!
I found the dang leak while changing the oil and it is actually coming from the FRONT. Oh man I feel like a dope!
What threw me off is the rear output seal on the differential is ALSO leaking. I thought the fluid had run down the...
I can certainly tell the front from the rear! It is the rear drive-shaft and the other end terminates in the rear differential. It is a 1991 jeep but it was pretty well equipped for its day. I think SYE is a slide yoke eliminator...I just never realized it had that or why it even would. I just...
I have read with keen interest all the various threads regarding the use of synthetic oil and it's real or imagined benefits. After some consideration I decided to try it for myself. I'm sharing my experience because I think it might benefit somebody else.
The first vehicle I used it in is a...
I have an SYE? Well that's news to me too!
I'm buying that seal tomorrow and giving this a try myself.
I have those tools and I'm not afraid of new jobs as long as they are do-able by an average backyard mechanic. I don't want to trash my transfer case!
thanks again...you guys are a lifesaver
Steve
My poor 1991 XJ seems to have developed a leak of sorts where the rear axle fits into the transfer case. I thought it was brake fluid but it seems to have the typical spray pattern of a spinning axle.
Have any of you guys or girls ever replaced what I assume is a pliable seal in there? Is this...
It's just a band-aid but it really works.
I pulled nearly ZERO emissions numbers in my 91 and 93 oldsmobiles and my 91 XJ after running this little red and yellow bottle of RXP for a few days before inspection. If somebody doesn't believe me I saved the print-outs they give you at the end of the...
If I lift the rear of my jeep and turn the wheels, they both turn in the same direction and here is a metal tage on the diff cover calling for additive
Well I never did lines before and even I managed to do it. The generic brake line comes in various lengths with the fitting on each end (yours has the same fitting on each end while some vehicles vary). I used a small common tubing cutter and bought a cheapo flaring tool that could do double...
