    Overcooling?

2001 Jeep XJ, 3.5" lift w/ 31" tires, aftermarket aluminium radiator. I have having problems with my Jeep not getting up to temperature. If I let it idle for awhile (30+ mins) it almost gets to 210, but then drops back down to between the second and third tick marks when I start to drive it...

Have you checked your headlight fluid? Proper lubrication of the headlight components is also crucial.

    1986 TBI 2.5 no start/crank

Cyl 1: 0 Cyl 2: 80 Cyl 3: 0 Cyl 4: 85 Those are #'s from the compression test I did today. I only had enough oil from the bottom of a can to do one wet test, which I did on cyl 1, results were still 0. Spark plugs, just from cranking and brand new: Cyl 1: good Cyl 2: fowled (blackened) Cyl 3...

    1986 TBI 2.5 no start/crank

I will check it during and before cranking then. I checked my email but didn't get anything, I sent you an email though just in case I wrote mine wrong.

Do I check the fuel pressure by just priming the fuel pump and leaving the ignition in the ON position? Since it won't start.

Yeah, just checked, that isn't in my jeep. Either it was removed before or it was made without one.

Cruiser, thanks for chiming in. Fuel pressure will be checked today, life got ahead of me the past few days. I will verify again today, but last time I checked spark was bright and blue. I will do those tips too, but I dont think my jeep has the C101 connection... I have seen your tips before...

Yes, I do. Thanks. Where would I get such a manual?

    1986 TBI 2.5 no start/crank

I will check again, but yes I am sure that I had spark. That's unfortunate that it does start without the CTS... I guess I will replace it since its already shipped. How could I get ahold of Cruiser?

    1986 TBI 2.5 no start/crank

There is no way to know, it could have been broken for years or it could have come off because of a rock or something and it is causing my no start.

http://www.4wdmechanix.com/Tuning-and-Troubleshooting-the-2.5L-Jeep-TBI-Four?r=1 seems to agree with JeepDriver - that the broken one is the CTS and the one on of the intake manifold is the MAT.

So should I get a coolant temp sensor or an air intake sensor for the broken one? I suspect it is my problem

So, here is the info on the ohms of the sensors, and a video showcasing the sensors I didn’t know what they were but tested anyway. Watch the video first – I found a sensor that a connection broke out! https://youtu.be/qnPesBBGeiI MAT - .9 WOT - .1 MAP – 0 CPS – 0 Sensor with broken connection...

Yeah, I think it's adjusted by taking it out and using a flat tip to 'tighten' the seal or 'loosen'' it.
