    98 xj starting problem

Check all your connectors on the power side for corrosion, dirt build up, loose connections, oil contamination. Do the same with the control side of the starter circuit. Make sure your starter has a good chasis ground, dirt or oil between the starter and the tranny bellhousing mounting surfaces...

What is your XJ used for?

Modified..... Yard art. Modified..... Money Pit. :repair: Not a daily driver or a trail rig, well, as of now, for a while. I have only put 600 miles on it since December, coincidently the last time I set a tire on a trail. And it doesn't look like things will get much better rest of this year.

Tom Wood's DriveShafts Baaaaaadddd???Need TW DS owners here

That is a great offer, and appreciate the gesture, but this incident happened about a year ago and has since been repaired by a different shop. I never bothered with calling Tom Woods because the damage was resulted by the abuse the shaft took, so I payed the price to fix it myself. But...

Tom Wood's DriveShafts Baaaaaadddd???Need TW DS owners here

I never said I was dissatisfied with anything, actually, if I remember correctly I said it was not a bad product. I was just sharing my experience with the company. All I was pointing out was that the weld broke on the cap. Welds should not break, the tubing should have collapsed and twisted...

Tom Wood's DriveShafts Baaaaaadddd???Need TW DS owners here

What I meant by could have been my mistake was that I may have given him the incorrect yoke to yoke measurments. As of now, it was over a year ago. I just remember getting the driveshaft and the splines were a bit too far out when the driveshaft was installed. After I damaged the driveshaft, I...

Tom Wood's DriveShafts Baaaaaadddd???Need TW DS owners here

I had a Tom Woods DS until this little incident. My Woody Not to say the driveshaft was bad or anything, but instead of the driveshaft tube collapsing and twisting, it broke at the weld. All in all kind of a freak accident kind of thing that happened. My only complaint was the driveshaft was...

    AC - Refridgerant & Lines

Hmm, a bit of interesting info on Duracool. It is illegal to use unless it is being used on an industrial application. Duracool is based on a Hydrocarbon Blend, basicly running a flammable gas under pressure. Here is the EPA link to Duracool information...

    AC - Refridgerant & Lines

Personally I would stay away from R134 alternatives. Most of the time they are not simply drop in, and need a lot of work to convert the system properly to get the stuff to run. Plus, most AC shops won't touch the system if it isnt R12 or R134. I would suspect there would be other problems in...

Which A/C Compressor Do I Have?

I have a 94 xj with an AC compressor without the manufacturers label (just the R12 ID label). But the compressor housing has 709t stamped into it. I believe this is a Sanden 709 compressor, 7 cyl, 9 cu in displacement, reciprocating wobble plate style. Not sure what the t stands for though...

    Overkill?

I work out of my Dad's garage on my junk (cause I live in apartments), and the easiest way to avoid problems is set some ground rules and let him know what work is going on and how long that work is going to take.. Some rules I go by- - Respect his stuff and his garage. Nothing will piss...

    So, what's my problem??

The 2nd O2 sensor basically monitors the efficiency of the Cat (AKA Catalytic Monitor), If too much O2 or to little O2 is released out of the cat, it will throw a code indicating the Cat is bad, or is on its way to the grave. The Upstream O2s will compensate some for the downstream sensor, so if...
