hey, thanks. reading what TNT wrote, they say for 'monster flex' go with the flattest springs you can afford to run. leaves me wondering if I should just buy new stock springs or leave old flat ones on???????

I know someone out there knows the answer. I did search, but didn't find what I need: longer shackles seem needed to get more travel out of rear leaf packs because the spring needs to change length as it flexes. if I'm trying to arrive at about 3" lift, what would be the right shackles to use...

I'm trying to K.I.S.S. and still have a machine that can move down roads in Baja at speed. I think I'd be ok with good long leaf packs and good shackles. I've seen a few posts about using longer leaves, like S-10 Chevy's. The most important thing from what I've learned is overall correct...

thanks for the opinions. shipping problems I can deal with, but, engineering, design, materials, and workmanship ought to be top notch for all of us. consider not just the $$$ laid out, but the hours of work, broken knuckles, and the desire to have stuuf work well and last. IMO. :viking:

I got a really dumb suggestion, use stainless steel fasteners every chance you get. They do not cost much more nowadays, I know cause I use hundreds of SS screws, bolts daily. Check out Graingers, McMaster-Carr, and Ace, True Value, Home Depot, Lowes. It won't help you today, but in a year...

and I realized the RE drop brackets DO take care of uppers and lowers, so I'm thinking that works better for you that the long arms on the lowers only

I have been studying the same long arms, and came up with the question of how can you have this length on new lower arms and do nothing on the uppers? I'm wishing there was a solution for long arms top and bottom, and this is why the designers go to the 'Y' config. The only exception I've...
