Help fix my cold start problem on my 2000

I had a similar issue with my 2000. In addition to not idling after a cold start, mine eventually got to the point of not idling at all. I couldn't figure it out at the time, but the corroded and failing battery cables were causing the problem. Maybe someone else can describe it more...

    drilling spring perches

I prefer to enlarge the hole in the perch, but some people grind, file, etc. the center pin head to make it fit the existing hole. Below is just one thread in which this topic is covered. http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=11972&highlight=RE+center+pin

    replacing O2 sensors

I got my sensor socket at Sears, but (like 5-90 said) they probably have them at most parts stores. I seem to remember, though, that I couldn't get the sensor socket finessed onto the pre-cat sensor (on my 2000 anyway). Would there be something above it in the way? Hopefully I'm remembering...

No CEL? And other o2 sensor questions...

I think an O2 sensor circuit failure takes a certain number of trip cycles to turn on the MIL. I'm almost certain it's more than 1, but it may be more like 10. I don't recall. I suspect the computer has a DTC in memory, it just hasn't detected the fault in enough trips to light the MIL.

    Rubicon Wheels

I got mine off Craigslist too. Shipping was the dealbreaker for eBay for me as well. I paid $850 for mine with stock Rubi MT/R's (~4000 miles) -- considerably less than the prices I saw thrown around on eBay. The fella I bought them from needed the garage space more than the cash.

Rear Windshield wiper probelm gone bad

The rear arm is definitely replaceable. Depending on where/how its broken it could involve the motor too. From what you wrote I'm not clear. You said you disconnected the motor. Did your Dad just grab the arm from outside and wrestle it off? I would check eBay, there seem to be a lot of...

    Check engine light, O2 sensors

My 2000 got this repair not too long ago -- also P0138. Like was said above, sensor 2 is the post-cat. The pre and post cat sensors are not the same part, at least on mine. I used Bosch sensors, their part numbers are different, and holding the two in your hand you can see they are different.

    Help-check engine light

I just glanced at the summary table I was thinking of (from my Equus OBDII manual, its on their site too), and it shows 3 trip cycles, with no faults present of course, to turn off the MIL for most "common" faults (O2 sensors, misfire, and EGR monitors, to name a few) . I have seen the lamp...

    Help-check engine light

The number of drive cycles to turn off the MIL lamp, as well as the number of cycles to clear the DTC from computer memory, completely depend on the cause. For example, after repair of an oxygen sensor high voltage code the lamp will turn off after one drive cycle. I've seen the lamp turn...

    Oversized Oil Filter?

Check this thread for a larger NAPA alternative ECKSJAY recommends. I'm not sure if this is the Mustang filter. http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=48478&highlight=bigger+oil+filter I use this filter with no abnormal pressure issues. It's longer, and little tighter fit in my 2000...

    RE LCA zerk size?

Does anyone know the size of the grease zerks that come with RE fixed LCA's (I assume the adjustables and UCA's as well)? The standard, or the coupling that came with my grease gun anyway -- I'm sure it has a size description, doesn't fit as it looks to be too small. It looks like I need a...
