As White said "PREP IT GOOD" I did mine many moons ago and did not prep it well enough. It looked OK for a while but eventuatly it looked like hell. Good thing I threw a rod in my 4.0 and have to rebuild the entire jeep. This time I will not be in such a rush to drive it and will take the time...
If your friends don't care if you break and you like doing trail repairs go for it. It's cool that you have plans for better axles. Skip the 10 bolt get the 14. If you are going to wheel your jeep a lot or hard why do you want to get a nicer one? It will hurt more banging up your body. As...
I am not saying there is anything wrong with a welded rear just that the rear being welded should be stout enough to take the added stress like your friends 60's and 14 bolts.
You are right it will be "real" temporary. At least you are going to use a Miller :yelclap:
Seriously though, When you snap your shizzle and hold up everyone in your group they won't be happy.
I like the idea of pulling the header and radiator. Not trying to hijack but while we are discussing pulling engines, I was wondering if I have my jeep on jackstands with the axles and suspention removed if anyone thinks it could be feasable to pull the engine tranny and t-case as one piece by...
How long have you been running doorless? Have you driven it with no doors in really bad rain? I don't think it is that bad. I have not had very many problems with getting wet, only when it is raining sideways. I ran a similar setup for a while just because I wasn't sure what the cops might...
Yeah BPI bumpers are awsome. It sucks that the price went up so much because Poison Spyder is selling them now. I got my bare metal winchless BPI front bumper last september for $287.00 & $50.00 shipping. I have since modified the bumper to hold a Warn M8000 without losing any approach angle...
JUNK don't buy it. I am glad some people have had good experiences with them, But I saw a E10000 get burnt up in one trail ride. Just put a little bit more money aside and get a Warn.
I cut and folded my rear quarter panels and it is not a big deal to weld them back together. I have a Hobart handler 175 and set the heat on 1 and did a S#!T load of spot welds and did not lite my jeep on fire once. After that I smoothed everything out with a grinder and a little bit of bondo...
