I figure as fast as fuel was flowing there would be enough to get a sputter out of it but it does absolutely nothing.
I did swap relays but I can't remember if I did the ASD or not, iot's been a couple of weeks.
Yeah, the searching I did here and the Google did not give a lot of good results.
Unless we decide to keep it I won't be spending much, if any $$ on it. I'd rather cut my losses and part it out than fight with it in 100+ degree weather just to get it running and sell it.
Thanks foir your input!!
So my 1993, 4.0 XJ has been sitting for about 2 a year and a half and now won't start. I have narrowed it to an injector issue but not sure if it is the positive or negative side.
To get to this point here is the troubleshooting I've done:
- I can hear the fuel pump prime
- Tested fuel pump by...
I'm sure you've seen the hoods with the scoop facing the window, they're called cowl induction because the would pull in the air here and go right to the air cleaner back when they sat atop the carb.
This metal is pretty thin and if you don't have a good machine to weld with you will blow through it. Ask me how I know!! Mine is just a trail rig that I am removing old rust from and sealing the floor so it won't rust again so I'm not worried about it as much as you would be for a rig that...
I ran into one of these once. The exact same guy inspected my truck (2001 Ram 3/4 ton diesel) the year before. Went back and he said he could not inspect it this year because there was no cat on it. Never came with one and he wouldn't take that for an answer even though I told him he...
This is some good info. I am going to slowly be rebuilding the current engine in my XJ (went to change the rear main seal and found the main bearing on the rear cap totally dry) and was going to be asking some of the same as the OP.
Thanks!
I've got that right now on mine. Had to put a new exhaust manifold on and didn't want to hook up the rest until after I drop the oil pan and replace the rear main seal. Actually sounds pretty darn good! No road worthy but I do like the way it sounds.
Without the header you are going to have to be VERY creative since everything mounts to it. Check the junk yards. I picked up one for like $20 a few weeks back but they only had the one XJ there. Make sure the holes that the headlight adjusters and spring go into are not broken, that's why I...
I'm the same way about looking at something and saying I can make that cheaper. Then by the time I'm done I could have saved 2 days worth of work and been out on the trail instead.
As far as needing 10g or 3/16? :dunno: I would imagine that the stiffeners will tear away from the welds no matter...
