Well, I figured this out, took out the bolts from the bracket that held the cable and found a place to put a flathead and pry the adjuster open. Adjusted the cable and also found that the plastic piece inside the shifter in the cab had a broken tab. Fixed that. Went to bleed the brakes and found...

I reckon tomorrow I will pull the whole cable assembly so I can get a good look at it. Will post pics for future people who might have issues.

When the shifter is in Park, the transmission is actually in Neutral so I am trying to adjust it out to where Park is Park but I am unsure how to adjust it out to a longer length so it will reach the shift level on the transmission.

I posted this over in the OEM tech board, but have not gotten a response yet. Any of you guys down here know anything about Shift Cable adjustments?

Anyone have a real life picture of this part here? I found it on mine, but cannot seem to locate the 'adjuster clamp' it speaks of to release the cable:

I finally found a picture of that component in the Haynes manual. It says that it is a Motorcraft starter solenoid. Here is a link to a new one, but my starter appears to have the solenoid built into it so I do not know if this is even necessary. The wiring diagram in the manual is not all...
