I have a right hand drive 2000 XJ (we drive on the correct side of the road down here ;) and after a year of putting denying and denying its very clear that my A/C evaporator is leaking.
I had it topped up with freon a month ago and most of its gone and pressure is low, but cant find a leak...
Yep you're probably right. I've replaced trans mount a couple months ago, but wasn't the best quality....Its on the list, but first got a couple other pressing issues.
SOLVED: Like so many noises in the past, completely harmless...feel like a bit of an idiot.
Once I got someone in the jeep, slammed in reverse I looked around for clearances and found t-case was hitting/vibrating off the skid plate - I have a 3 inch lift with t-case drop brackets...
Wait what? I didn't know that?
So you reckon its motor mounts? Would make sense because it happened after a day of driving terrible corrugated dirt roads.
Is there a way to test your motor mounts without replacing them?

Noticed a rumble/shaking in the tranny when stationary in reverse (only happens when stationary) after a particularly cold start for the first time a week ago. It disappeared in neutral and drive and only happened in reverse...
