    testing power window motor

Need to determine if my passenger window motor is dead. I unplugged the connection in the door at the motor. Ran a jumper wire from the battery directly to each side of the connector on the window motor. I got no movement up or down. Shouldn't this process have gotten the window to go up or...

    turn signal problem, ignition switch?

My turn signals work fine when the ignition key is in the accessory position. As I just start to turn the ignition to start, just before the starter engages, the turn signals stop working. They do not work while the motor is running. If I turn the ignition off again and repeat the above steps...

    window motor

There might be some cleanup initially, but that would be it. Spray in the tracks with the window up and down. I really think the problem lies with moving parts that raises the window up and down. Be generous with the silicon. That did it for me.

    window motor

After dealing with this situation too, I would recommend the two easy tasks below before starting to replace parts. First thing I would do is get a large can of Silicone lubricate, then remove your interior door panels and spray the tracks and all the moving parts associated with your power...

    Power Window Switch

87 XJ 2 door I was wondering if I could make the passenger door window stock switch work as a standalone circuit independent of the driver’s door switch. My passenger window is currently inoperable. It has not ever worked from the passenger side switch, but did from the driver’s switch. It...

    Need a coolant fan switch for '88 Cherokee with a '91 T-stat housing ...

I need to make this thermostat/sensor change on my 87. Where is the relay located between the factory radiator sensor location and the fan? Did I read somewhere it is one of the relays on the passenger side fender well?

    fried wiper high speed?

EMS - I spliced directly into the wiper motor high speed wire and the BATT source on the fuse box. Paradise - If there is a problem with the circuit breaker, would the slow speed still be working too? I do not think the switch (the stalk switch, right?) was the problem because the low and...

    fried wiper high speed?

Did I fry my high speed on my front wiper? Originally, both speeds for my wipers were the same. By splicing into the white/blue wire just before the wiper motor and harness connection, I got the high speed. I decided to install a toggle to operate just the high speed. I used the BATT at the...

    removing factory rear nutserts

Aren't the gas tank skid plate nutserts suppose to just lift out once unbolted? The driver's side is semi rusted in place and I understand that, but it seems like I am playing tug of war with the passenger side nutsert. I can grab the bumper end and wiggle it around, but something is holding it...

vent window removal and power windows

I am replacing my passenger vent window. The vent window is completely loose, but I cannot clear the power window glass for removal. After following the convoluted Chilton manual and searching for info here, I still cannot determine if the following things must be done: Is it necessary to...

    Stainless brake tubing(for hard lines)?

About 6 months ago I had stainless brake hardlines install on my 87 2 door. I don't have the receipt in front of me, but I am 95% sure it was SSBC. I had to send them my old brake lines because they did not have a sample to model and build new ones. It was about a six week turnaround...
