Please share photos of your cargo area.

I've got a 2 seater station wagon... with a 37" spare in back and all tools / parts / supplies for Jeep and myself... main goal is not to get smacked in the head by something heavy if I play turtle.. Not pretty.. but it works.. Compressor is strapped down.. Cover bolted to "X" brace on the...

Gettin bored of my current setup; Need tires, go big now for later or wait?

FWIW... I'd go 33s... and truss the D30 if you can... I'm rockin 37s.. a buddy with a 33 set up goes 99% of all the places I can go... once you start going bigger than 33s, everything gets taxed pretty hard... If you go 33s, and have local pick and pulls, worth carrying spare D30 shafts...

Do you have a BDS Suspension in your XJ ?

I've got their 3" YJ leafs in the.... front! :)

    Here we go again... radiators

It kept oveheating.. was really pissing me off... Napa 272310 fan clutch... life is happy... interstate can rock a/c and 75mph.. can't rock a/c on the trail, but it stay cool w/o the a/c.. we'll call it a win!

    Timing Cover bolt hole question...

I put a Renix stroker in XJ and swapped in my HO head.. I had to drill out that exact same hole. No biggies... let 'er rip...

    Here we go again... radiators

Wasn't happy with how close the fan clutch is to the radiator... I can get a full finger in between.. but not enough.. Found a telephone pole and 4low and torqued it... came stupidly close to hitting the radiator.. (The "OT" is backward for the "TON" on my plate)... Looking at the motor...

    Here we go again... radiators

Fit is actually good.. they are just effin huge by the time you get two 1-1/4" rows.. I couldn't figure out how to make electric work. Simply wasn't enough room. I know Go Jeep removed the pulley for the mechanical clutch.. but his is RHD and has a different accessory belt... removing this...

    Here we go again... radiators

Went ahead and scored a 2 row 600 HP Griffin radiator from 4WD.COM... It hurt my credit card... It is huge. Here it is compared to the 3 row CSF.. Biggest deal is getting the condenser lines to clear around the tank and moving the radiator mounts forward. I carefully bent the condenser...

    What Parts To Cryo??

There's two types of deformation in steel. Elastic and plastic. Elastic is what your spring does every day. You apply a load, it deflects, you release the load and it returns. Plastic means you bend it. The modulus of elasticity is the property we apply to this. For steel it's roughly 3x10^7...

    What Parts To Cryo??

I'm a metallurgist that's been heat treating for 30+ years now. A couple things to keep in mind. 1) Cryo does not make steel denser. Steel is crystalline, not molecular. 2) Benefits are there. But, it's not a one size fits all. For neutral hardened product like axles shafts, bolts, etc you...

Damn them leaf springs. I knew it. Torque converter locks. I've got a gauge on outgoing temp, and it'll drop to 140-160F once locked in. Other than Griffin, who makes larger capacity radiators?

    Here we go again... radiators

I can see through the condenser when the radiator is out... don't think it's a problem. Airflow seams fine from the fans... I've got a huge cooler on the tranny and the power steering... I've also just purchased a 10,000 lb Warn winch that I need to figure out how to mount up... Nothing...

    Here we go again... radiators

Sorry guys. I didn't give you a good problem description. It feels like a capacity issue. If excess heat gets in the system, it can't get rid of it. If I'm on the trail... life is fine until 80+F outside and a couple full throttle uphill attacks. Once this heat gets into the system, it can't...

    Here we go again... radiators

I've done every different set up you can think of. Different pumps. Different t-stats. Presently there's a high flow pump and t-stat. I've also tried throttling coolant flow down. It's all verified with an IR gun. Again, I've fought this for 10 years. Since it's now overheating on the...

    Here we go again... radiators

I've had the XJ for 10 years. I've had overheating problems for 10 years. I've spent thousands, yes, thousands of dollars on the issue. Was fixed with a CSF 3 row and higher flow fans. Capacity issue. Can't leave enough alone, I now have a stroker from a buddy's XJ. I now have overheating...
